In a competition between the Varsity and Freshman fencing squads yesterday afternoon at the Indoor Athletic Building, the Varsity defeated the Freshmen 7-2 in foils, 7-2 in epee, and 8-1 in sabre.

Although it was expected that the veteran Varsity fencers would come out on top, the Yardling foils squad has definite promise and showed up well against the more experienced opposition.

Richard Morgan IV '36, who has been a member of the sabre team for the last two years, competed in foils for the first time and won his bouts. Nathaniel H. Batchelder, Jr. '39, captain of the Loomis team last year, distinguished himself by being the only member of the Freshman squad to win his bout in the sabre contests.
