Dr. Eugene E. Oakes, instructor in Economics, has been awarded the $500 David A. Wells Prize for his thesis "Studies in Massachusetts Town Finance". The Wells Award is given annually for the best original thesis in the field of economics in a competition open to Seniors and to graduates of any department of not more than three years standing. As a condition of the award, the winning thesis is published in the Harvard Economic Series.
