About 20 runners and field event specialists are expected to attend vacation practice next week. This workout will be held for the first four days of the week.
So far this spring vacation has not been too intensive, but after the vacation trackmen will probably be present in greater numbers and with more regularity.
From what has been seen so far, it seems that the Freshman squad which had an almost disastrous season during the winter will be bolstered in the field events by a pair of discus twirlers and a hammer thrower. Bob Scars has been taken in hand by Jaakko and has improved his form in the hammer considerably. Yesterday he was flinging it over his shoulder out toward the hundred-foot mark and gives promise of better things before the year is over.
Bob Jones and Charley Dyer have been performing nobly with the discus.
