BOB BROOKINGS STEALS SHOW IN HANDICAP MEET

ROBERT RANDALL FRESHMAN HIGH POINT SCORER

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Emerging briefly from retirement Bob Brookings stole the show in the first day of the Handicap Meet at the Stadium and upheld the honor of the Yard proctors by winning his heat of the 100-meter dash with ridiculous ease. In the 200-meter dash, however, time took its toll of the veteran and he was smothered by the field.

Captain Milt Green came through as expected by winning his heats in the high and low hurdles without being extended. In the 100-meter event he was five yards ahead on the first hurdles and widened his lead at every other jump. In the 200-meter race he also won easily and finished at a trot. All the hurdles events were run from scratch.

Randall Outstanding Yardling

Robert Randall was the outstanding Freshman and high point scorer of the day. He was third in the final of the discus, second in his heat of the 100-meter dash, and first in his heats of the 200-meter dash and 100-meter high hurdles. He was aided by handicaps in every event.
