Further complications were introduced into the boxing situation from the fact that letters are awarded only to those men who compete against Yale. Apparently there will be no boxing letters without a Yale match.

Unofficial statements from the H.A.A. were contradictory, one saying that a set of probable starters would be given letters. Another said that there would be no letters unless the situation is changed.

Coaches on Soldiers Field seemed to feel that the awarding of letters on any other basis would have to be extended to other sports.
