An influx of returning players brought Varsity and Freshman soccer squads up towards the hundred mark yesterday as the Crimson booters opened regular practice.

Among the list of first team candidates, men to solve Coach Carr's present worries may possibly be found among the following: Robert M. Briggs '37, goal; Philip H. Sheridan '39 and Fitzwilliam Sargent, 3rd., fullbacks; Charles F. Rickard '37, Ernest Sachs, Jr. '38, and Robert E. White '38, fullbacks, and Pierre C. Fraley '37, Frank R. Harnden '39, Richard M. Grandin '38, and John M. Johansen '38, forwards.

Most of the returning Varsity men were sent off to scrimmage on the Freshman field with an eleven hastily constructed by Coach Jim MacDonald on the Yardlings first appearance on the field.

Forty-five Freshmen reported to the managers, about half of whom were able to dress, with more expected out today.

In the ranks of those whose appointments permitted them to take the field were recognized Doughty, Haisted, and Merrill of last year's Exeter team, Mendel and Deakin of Andover, Fernald of Episcopal, Philadelphia, Dunn of Deerfield, and d'Autrement of Santa Barbara.
