University Issues Warning About Bogus Subscription

Solicitor for Encyclopedia Has No Connection With Faculty

Information has been received from several sources that subscriptions to an encyclopedia have been solicited by a man claiming, first that Harvard University is financially interested in the publication in question, and, second, that he has had some connection with the Harvard Faculty. Both those claims are false.

It has further been ascertained that the same canvasser has falsely represented himself as connected with the Department of Government in another New England college.

All institutions and individuals that have been, or may hereafter be, approached by the canvasser making claims such have been indicated above are warned to make careful inquiries before accepting them.
