Feeling that the Black-Connery Wages and Hours bill is a vital part of the New Deal program, the Student Congress last night conducted a discussion of the terms and principles of the act.
As little fault was found with the general purpose of the legislation, most of the debate centered around the powers delegated to the Labor Standards Board. Amendments ranged from giving blanket powers to the board to regulating it by the narrowest of limitations.
