Plans for bringing prominent speakers to the University for a forum on the closed shop, for a "Harvard Congress", and instruction of the delegates to the Student Union national convention, were completed at the first meeting of the new Executive Committee of the Student Union yesterday.
The inclusion of prominent alumni in a program of speakers that already includes Mayor LaGuardia and Thomas E. Dewey was decided upon. A public forum on the open versus the closed shop in the University was planned for January. Robert Watt, Massachusetts Secretary of the A. F. of L. will speak for the closed shop, and a prominent employer from Boston will be sought to present the other point of view.
A meeting of 21 local delegates to the American Student Union convention at Vassar was called for Sunday.
