DARTMOUTH OUT-HOOPS CRIMSON FIVE 44 TO 31

FRESHMAN DEFEAT LAWRENCE ACADEMY 41 - 23

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In a fast, though ragged, game an agile Dartmouth five upset a favored Harvard varsity team 44-31 last night in the Indoor Athletic Building.

Led by speedy Joe Batchelder, the clever Green quintet ran rings around the sloppy, bewildered Feslermen. Both teams were evenly matched the entire first half, with Dartmouth leading at the end, 18-17.

No sooner had Red Lowman sunk a foul shot for Harvard at the opening of the second half than Dartmouth began a scoring streak that placed them ahead 36-21 in ten minutes of play.

Throughout the game the Feslermen showed the effects of the mid-year period, for they handled the ball tensely, passed poorly, and missed many shots. Vernon Struck's consistent hard playing was not sufficient to equal the coordination and alacrity of Coach Cowles's men.

In the preliminary game, the Harvard Freshmen, paced by Captain Charles Lutz, trounced Lawrence Academy, 41-23.
