Due to the absence of Coach Harry Cowles through illness, John M. Barnaby 2d '32, will take over the coaching reins of the Crimson squash forces and will handle at least the beginning of the tennis season. Barnaby has been assisting Cowles for five years, and he has handled several Freshman squash and tennis teams.
The task of the new mentor will not be too easy, as it devolves upon him to keep up the extraordinary record of the Cowles regime, during which time the Crimson have not bowed to the Elis in either Varsity squash or tennis. For four consecutive years, also, Coach Cowles has had under his tutelage the holder of the National Intercollegiate Squash Rackets Championship.
It is the tennis situation which is especially worrying Barnaby. No less than five of the first six lettermen of last year's team have been lost through graduation.
