Field of 31 Men Competes in H-Y-P Trials Last Night

Twenty men from a field of 31 speakers qualified in the first Harvard-Yale-Princeton debate trails and preliminary Coolidge Prize competition held last night in the Lowell House Common Room. The list of the successful qualifiers is posted at Leavitt & Peirce.

The prospective Triangle debaters split evenly over the question of the proposed reorganization of the judiciary. Judged by Edward M. Rowe '27, director of Debating, each contestant presented a three-minute speech.

Rowe will judge semi-final tryouts to be held tomorrow evening at 8:00 o'clock in the Lowell House Common Room, and for each man must give a 4-minute speech prepare a complete brief on both sides of the question, presenting all important arguments and citing all sources of information.
