In search for a winning hurler to share the pitching burden with Ed Ingalls, Coach Fred Mitchell last night unexpectedly announced left fielder Dave Shean as the probable starter on the mound this afternoon against Brown at Soldiers Field.
With Ingalls the only Varsity twirler to chalk up a victory this season and with league games scheduled Friday and Saturday against Cornell and Dartmouth, Mitchell is making every effort to uncover a possible winner.
Colwell Resumes Catching Duties
After an absence of two weeks due to an ailing leg, Al Colwell was in his regular position behind the plate in yesterday's practice and will catch today against the Bruins.
In a further move to rejuvenate the nine, Mitchell will start Russ Allen in the left field garden this afternoon, although the Varsity grid captain has been present at only the last two practice sessions. The rest of the lineup will be the same as the one which faced St. Johns Saturday.
