GALBRAITH GETS GRANT FOR RESEARCH ABROAD

John K. Galbraith, instructor in Economics, has received a grant from the Social Science Research Council for study abroad next year, it was learned yesterday. He will be absent from the University next year in Great Britain, Italy and Germany, studying "current developments in the theory of money and banking in relation to agricultural and industrial investment."

This grant is one of thirteen awarded to men and women under 35 years old who have the degree of Ph.D. Basic stipends of $1,800 to $2,500 and travelling expenses are attached to them for research training fellowships.

Galbraith plans to spend most of the year in Cambridge, England, dividing a probable four months between Rome and Berlin for the rest.
