THURSDAY OR FRIDAY IS DATE OF THIRD TRY AT 1940 GAME

Thursday or Friday of this week has been selected as the date for the encounter between the Harvard and Yale Freshmen baseball teams, it was announced by the H.A.A. yesterday afternoon, after two previous attempts had proved futile.

Last Saturday the teams were rained out. Yesterday the insatiable fates went as far as to burn a bridge on the New Haven Railroad over which the Eli nine was to travel.

Three Elis who arrived here late yesterday morning by automobile were annoyed to say the least, but expressed confidence that the third time can never fail. Thursday or Friday--the authorities will have to think twice before making this momentous decision.
