Lowell, Adams, Eliot Gridmen Play at New Haven Tomorrow in Wind-up Games

Lowell, Adams, and Eliot House football teams will journey to New Haven tomorrow for three post-season games with their "sister" Yale colleges, thus beginning a furious weekend of Yale-Harvard football clashes. The Bellboys take on Pierson, Adams plays Saybrook, and Eliot meets Jonathan Edwards. All games begin at 3 o'clock.

The Goldcoasters have the hardest days' toil ahead of them, since their opponent, Saybrook, finished second in the Eli intercollegiate standing with four wins, one defeat, and four ties. The 'Coasters finished fourth with three victories, two losses, and two ties.

Coasters Beat Kirkland 7-6

However, the Adams contingent boasts a 7-6 victory over co-champion Kirkland, thus rating an even chance against Saybrook. Twenty-two men are making the trip after having worked out this week on Soldiers Field in preparation for the contest.

Adams, described in the H.A.A. News as the most razzly-dazzly outfit in the league, has a dangerous passing combination in fullback Willard Whitman and end Bob Akerson. Whitman's heaves salvaged numerous games for the 'Coasters this fall, and were the cause of the Deacons' going down.

The starting lineup for Adams is: ends, Bixby and Akerson; tackles, Dorfman and Maisel; guards, Counihan and Kingman; center, Updegraff; quarter-back, Captain Lucey; halfbacks, Lewis and Clark; and Whitman, fullback.

Lowell Strong

Once-beaten Lowell, with a squad of 17 players, will meet sixth-place Pierson minus the services of star back Dick Lewis, but the Bellboys appear to hold the edge over their Blue opponents. The Slaves, however, took their last four games to provide a whirlwind finish to their season.

The Bellboys scrimmaged Tuesday afternoon with Adams, counting twice to the 'Coasters once in a sloppy contest hindered by the cold weather. On Monday, a long practice was featured by pass defense against Eliot.

Sporting four group 2 men and a heavy line, the Lowellians number among their grid victims co-champion Winthrop, whom they defeated 7-6. In successive games the Bellboys have shown marked ability to put on late-period sustained drives for touchdowns.

The probable Bellboy lineup is: ends, Hunter and Wenzel; tackles, Thurston and Pirnie; guards, Call and Taliaferro; center, Clark; quarterback, Gordon; halfbacks, Hame and Blotner; and full-back, Lyford.

Eliot Has Even Chance

A greatly improved Eliot eleven takes the field against Jonathan Edwards an even choice. Although the Elephants were unable to win a game during the season, their last three contests showed great improvement both offensively and defensively.

The Elephants' last game against Kirkland was a good example of their improved play. Against a highly favored Deacon eleven. Eliot lost 7-0, after pushing down to the Kirkland goal line only to have the game end.

Added to this the fact that Dan Melia, injured in the Winthrop game, will be back at guard strengthens the Eliot line considerably. Another addition to the Elephant ranks is halfback Don Donahue, a regular Freshman back last year, who promises to run wild against the Elis.

Seventeen Eliotmen will make the trip, together with a great horde of Elephant enthusiasts who hope to see the team score its first victory. The starting lineup is: ends Haff and Levin; tackles, A.
