Plans for the Boston Refugee Committee, composed of members from the refugee committees of Simmons, Radcliffe, Massachusetts institute of Technology, and Harvard, were formulated last night in a meeting held at Tech.

E. Converse Peirce 2nd '39 was elected president of the Committee at the meeting, and Miss Erica Beckh, Radcliffe 2G was named vice-chairman. Willard Mott of Tech will serve as secretary-treasurer.

Money for the committee will be gathered by such benefit performances as a joint glee club concert of the four colleges. Ernest M. Jarndorf '41, of the University Refugee Committee, suggested that a benefit of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, formerly planned for the use of the Harvard Committee, might be turned over to the central group.

Funds will be used for needs of the refugees such as transportation, and housing before they arrive at college. Emergencies which arise in the lives of the students will be covered as far as possible by the funds of the central committee, and it was suggested that the group assume the responsibility of trying to place the refugee students in jobs after they have graduated from college.

Another part of the work of the committee will be to obtain affidavits from citizens of the United States sponsoring the students, to send to immigration officials.

Other University delegates at the meeting were Robert A. Reisman '40, and Phillip H. Bagby Jr. '39.
