After hearing Professor Dirk J. Stuick, of M.I.T. explain the relation of Marxism to science, the John Reed Society broke wide open just as compromise was in sight on allowing non-Marxist talks to be heard.

The Marxists elected as secretary Edward H. Brown '41, as vice-president Rosenbaum 1G, and as president Goldman '39. The non-Marxist faction elected to its executive committee William I. Ingraham '38 and Warner Shippee 1G.
