INTER-HOUSE DEBATERS TO ADOPT NEW SYSTEM

Each House Will Appoint One Member To Executive Board; Varsity Council Sponsors System

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A new system of inter-House debating which is intended to increase the connections between: the Debating Council and the House debating teams will go into effect next month, it was announced yesterday.

Under the present plan two men, Langdon P. Marvin Jr. '41 and Allan B. Ecker '41; were in charge of the entire inter-House debating system, arranging schedules, picking, subjects, and supervising the debates.

It was decided that running the entire system was too much for two men to handle. And so a new plan was devised by which an executive branch consisting of one man from each House and a chairman will be in charge of the debating. The chairman of the board will be the regular treasurer of the Varsity Debating Council, which controls all upper class debating.

House debaters under the new system will be given more opportunity to do organizational work such as choosing, subjects and planning schedules. There will be an opportunity for promotion to the Varsity Council system.
