Malcolm J. Rowe '42 and Joseph S. Stern '40 will represent Harvard in Labrador this summer as Grenfell Mission Workers it was announced recently by Thomas H. E. Quimby '40 of the Phillips Brooks House Grenfell Mission Committee.
Rowe and Stern will be stationed about 1200 miles north of Boston, Rowe at Northwest River and Stern further east at Cartwright.
Will Work Outdoors
According to Quimby who made the trip last year with James H. Gilbert '40, the duties of the two this summer will consist mainly of "outdoor labor," designed both to benefit the boys and to do service to the mission.
Rowe and Stern were chosen out of is limited field of competitors by the Phillips Brooks House Committee which annually co-operates with the Grenfell Mission in this undertaking. The Mission operates in Labrador as a medical and service Bureau.
Rowe is a member of the Freshman swimming team, while Stern manages the Varsity tennis squad and is Chairman of the PBH Speakers' Committee.
