Harvard Students To Vote on Divestment From Israel in Inaugural HUA Election Survey
Bernard De Vote '18, editor of the "Easy Chair" of Harper's Magazine, will make same remarks on the literature of American history as the first speaker in the Freshman American Civilization series of discussions. The meeting will be at 7:15 o'clock in the Union Upper Common Room.
Weekly meetings and discussion groups have been projected for the entire year as one phase of the American Civilization program for Yardlings. As in past years, meetings are open to all Freshmen and are informal in nature.
De Vote, who was at one time an instructor at Harvard, has been editor of the Saturday Review of Literature and has written widely in the field of American history and criticism. Among his books are "The Taming of the Frontier." "Mark Twain's America." and "Foraya and Rebuttals."
