3 Naval ROTC Men To Enter Annapolis

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

President Conant will nominate three members of the Naval ROTC course next March for admission to the Naval Academy at Annapolis. The selections will be made to the Secretary of the Navy who is authorized to choose twenty candidates annually.

During the past six years Harvard has had seven successful representatives at the Naval Academy under this plan. The course is for four years duration and prepares the candidates "for the duties of a junior line officer of the Navy."

ROTC Students Eligible

All Naval ROTC students, including Freshmen, who have completed one year's scholastic work in the course by the time of their entrance to the Academy are eligible.

Each man must pass a competitive mental examination on the third Wednesday in April which will include English, History. Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. A preliminary examination will be held between December 16 and February 5 on the same general topics. Also to be taken into consideration when recommendations are made to President Conant by Captain G. N. Barker, professor of Naval Science and Tacties, are the student's academic record in the ROTC course and his "officer caliber qualities."
