"I will bring suit against the editors of the CRIMSON, past and present," Harold A. Wolff '29, proprietor of Wolff's Tutoring School announced last night in a letter to the CRIMSON.
In reply to a statement made by a group of editors on last year's Executive Board in which they said that they would welcome a law suit brought against them for libel by any of the tutoring schools, Wolff said that he would defend himself against "their accusations in a court of law."
In last Friday's statement Blain Clark '40, former President, Sheffield West, former Managing Editor, Garfield Horn '40, former Editorial Chairman. John Sisson '40, former Business Manager, and Charles Pollak II '40, former Executive Editorf also labeled the College Tutoring Bureau, and Parker-Cramer along with Wolff as being "unethical."
Suit This Spring
Wolff was vague as to just when he would institute proceedings. He said however, that he would get in touch with the attorneys of the editors at some "mutually convenient time, presumably not until later this Spring."
The tutor's letter stated that he did note expect that he would win or that he would collect any money because of the suit. Wolff says that he knows that it is "foolhardy" to sue, but that he accepts the challenge anyhow.
The tutoring school head added that he would air his case before any other tribunal named by the five former editors, but it seems unlikely that they would want to name anything other than law court. Wolff also stated that he was suing because of his faith in the "constructive" nature of his business.
