Harvard Law School Students Pass Referendum Urging University To Divest From Israel
General Charles R. Apted, who this month announced his intention of resigning his position as head of the Yard Police after 33 years of service with the University, was taken to the Baker Memorial Hospital yesterday with a severe cold complicated by asthma.
The condition of the aged campus police head who has been suffering from chronic threat trouble for some time, was reported last night to be extremely grave.
At a testimonial dinner given in his honor on February 6, Apted was breveted by the CRIMSON the first full General in the history of the University. His long experience with the suppression of countless riots and student's practical jokes has made him one of the outstanding figures in University life.
