CRIMSON QUINTET TO BATTLE PENN TONIGHT

LEVINSON, SEEDERS ARE SCORING THREATS

By John C. Robbins

Heartened by Thursday night's victory over Columbia, the Varsity basketball team entrained for Philadelphia yesterday afternoon to meet the last place Pennsylvania quintet tonight in the Palestra.

But last place or no last place, Penn will be nobody's walkover, especially on their home grounds. The Red and Blue ran up an amazing total of 61 points against the league-leading Dartmouth Indians Wednesday night only to lose by one point in one of the year's most exciting games.

Penn's only win so far this year was an early-season victory over Cornell, but between that game and the affair of Wednesday night they didn't even threaten to break into the winning columns.

Three men dominated Penn's scoring against Dartmouth; Sid Levinson at guard tallied 18, Captain Gerry Seeders at forward chalked up 16, and Hen Soleliac at pivot scored 15. These three accounted for all but twelve of the Quaker total and they will be the men who will bear watching tonight.

Ross Hahn will be at the other guard spot with Rabbit Pearce at the other forward. Bernstein, Caput, and Schrieber are the Penn alternates.

Same Crimson Team

Coach Wes Fesler intends to start the same team that opened against the Lions Thursday night, with Captain Charley Lutz and Franny Simpson at forwards, Sam White at center, and Bud Finegan and Joe Romano at guards. Bill Webber and Ed Buckley are sure to see plenty of service, and Chet Legg, Ed Rothschild, and Bob James will serve as alternates.

As far as League standings go, Harvard is now in a fifth place tie with Columbia, a game and a half ahead of Penn and a game and a half behind Yale.

It looks as though Dartmouth is in first place to stay after the Elis' victory over Princeton, 50 to 38, Thursday night
