HENRY V. HUBBARD '97 WILL RETIRE IN 1941

Professor of Regional Planning Will Become Emeritus; Has Served on Faculty Since 1906

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Henry V. Hubbard '97, Charles Dyer Norton Professor of Regional Planning and Chairman of the Department of Regional Planning, will become Professor Emeritus on September 1, 1941, the University announced Saturday.

A member of the Faculty since 1906, Professor Hubbard is one of the country's outstanding landscape architects and city planners. During the current half year he is on sabbatical leave.

No Funds for Department

The University also announced that no technical instruction in Regional Planning will be offered in the immediate future, because sufficient funds for adequate instruction are not available.

Meanwhile a committee will investigate ways of continuing instruction or research in regional planning in order to make the best use of the department's library, rated as the foremost in the world, and to provide most effectively for the work of the next holder of the Norton Professorship.
