Yale Six Downs Yardlings; Eli Jayvees Swamp Crimson

Yale's Freshman pucksters concluded their season in fine form Saturday by pounding out a 3 to 2 victory over the Yardlings on New Haven ice. At the same time the Crimson's informal Jayvee sextet proved no match for the Elis, falling 6 to 1 in an uneven contest.

Goals by Captain Pete Brown and Washburn set the Puppies off to a 2 to 0 lead in the first period, but early in the next to the second Yardling line put the Crimson back in the game when the George Hackett took Pop Jenk's pass, circled the Yale defense, and rammed the puck under Cord Meyer's pads. John Paine evened the count ten minutes later when he slapped Bill Ray's pass into the Eli nets form a scrimmage in front of the goal.

Johnny Leboutiller's goal in 15:10 of the second period turned out to be the game-clincher, for though out to be game-clincher, for though both teams had many scoring chances during the fiercely contested third period, excellent work on the part of both goalies kept the score at 3 to 2.

Ben Toland's three goals and one assist placed the Eli Jayvees to a decisive victory over their informal Crimson counterparts. Only Deportalis was able to net the puck for the visitors.
