LIBRARY CHAMPS CHALLENGE ALL NINES WITHIN 150 MILES

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Planning to defend its unofficial title as world champion, the Widener baseball team has challenged "any library within a radius of 150 miles", according to its first baseman and manager, Frederick G. Kilgour '35.

With uniforms like those of the official champion New York Yankees, the librarians have not lost or tied a game in two years of competition. Resting on their triumph over last year's league winner, Winthrop House, they stated they would be willing to play any House team.

Last year, the champs challenged Sterling Library of Yale to a game, only to have the Elis refuse. Down in New Haven, it seems, the librarians play nothing but softball.
