MICKEY'S ATTEMPT TO STOP PUDDING'S PRODUCTION FAILS

MICKEY DUDS AGAIN

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

While the audience that packed the Hasty Pudding Club House for the first public showing of their racy bit of theatricals. "Assorted Nuts," waited, Councillor Michael A. Sullivan once more made news as the man who stopped the show by holding up the curtain for an hour while a permit was obtained from Mayor Lyons.

On the grounds that the performance was indecent, Sullivan had posted his strong arms outside the Club House with the orders that the show was not to be allowed to go on as long as it had no permit to perform.

Forgotten Law Invoked

A law that has long since practically disappeared from public knowledge was brought into the light by Sullivan last Friday when he held up the Student Union production of "Waiting for Lefty" on the grounds that it was communistic propaganda. Since then, proud of his new toy, Sullivan decided that the Hasty Pudding show, never before played under a permit, could stand being stopped for its alleged indecency.

Earlier in the day, a report was circulated that a policewoman from the Cambridge force was going to be present at the production in order to pass on "an extremely risque scene." The scene was based on a strip-tease finale, actually rather modest, because the chorus of men had more covering them than they would have on a bathing beach--each had on a brassiere.
