STUDENT UNION PLANS N.Y.A. AID DISCUSSION

National Youth Administration Will Be Treated by Officials Monday in Open Meeting

With George L. Glasheen of the Massachusetts N. Y. A. office and Ernest J. Simmons '25, assistant professor of English, as featured speakers, the Student Union will hold on open meeting to discuss the National Youth Administration in P. B. H. on Monday at 3 o'clock.

The meeting is the first move in an H. S. U. drive to bring N. Y. A. aid to Harvard. This spring the Student Union Plans to poll undergraduates to find out how many would benefit by N. Y. A. jobs.

Glasheen will discuss conditions which an applicant must fulfill in order (to get N. Y. A.) aid, and will touch on government in its relation to education. Simmons will probably outline the educator's point of view on the N. Y. A.

Also slated to speak is Eleanor Grose New England district secretary of the American Student Union.

On the committee sponsoring the meeting are Sidney Guberman '42, who will preside at the meeting. Merritt Saldinger '42, Orville F. Poland '42, Thomas J. O'Toole '42, and Arnold W. Pekowsky '48.
