MONDAY IS FINAL NIGHT FOR CRIMSON TRYOUTS

Competitions for Positions on News, Business, Photo Boards Still Open to Yardlings

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Freshmen may still enter the CRIMSON news, business, and photo board competitions by coming to the CRIMSON building at 7:30 o'clock Monday evening.

This year the CRIMSON is particularly anxious to get photographers who are interested in writing news and feature articles to go with their pictures. The competition will lay emphasis on ability to dig up news and organize illustrated feature articles on subjects of University interest such as the graduate schools, the scientific departments, college organizations, and sports.

Photographers are not only welcome to come out but also will be able to improve their speed and technique through the training of the competition, besides getting a chance to have their work published.

Since the CRIMSON has never before had a staff cartoonist, the first competition will lay emphasis on initiative and originality. The work will include editorial, sports, news, and advertising drawings, and cartoons as well as lettering and decorating pictorial pages.
