W. Bruce Pirnie, Jr. '41 of Concord was awarded the greatest single honor of the Military Science Department, the medal for the outstanding man in the first year of advanced work, yesterday afternoon at the annual R.O.T.C. review.
Pirnie, a member of the Varsity crew, received his medal from Governor Leverett Saltonstall '14, guest of honor at the review.
After the inspection of the corps by the Governor and Major-General James A. Woodruff, the entire battalion of 350 students demonstrated the manoeuvers of a force in actual battle.
The students of the Department went through all the activities of going into battle before about 500 spectators.
