To the Editor of the CRIMSON:

If somebody will tell me how to do it I would like to subscribe to the Harvard CRIMSON for this year. In fact if the editorials continue to be as good as they have been I don't see why I shouldn't subscribe to your paper in successive years. From time to time since I graduated in 1896 I have been mildly tempted to subscribe but never seemed to get around to doing it.

The reason for this subscription is of course your splendid editorial calling down President Conant of Harvard, President Seymour of Yale and Bishop Manning of New York. Ye gods, how right you are!! Kenneth Roberts hit the nail on the head when he praised your editorial, whereas Professor McLaughlin's criticism gave me a pain in the neck. Your answer to him was perfect.

Hoping you keep up the good work in trying to keep this country out of war. Alfred Codman '96.

P.S. I happen to have four sons between the ages of 31 and 37 but this is only a minor reason why I think the United States should avoid getting into any foreign war.
