ATTENDANCE POLICY STILL UNCHANGED, SAYS PHELPS

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Despite rumors to the contrary, University policy with regard to courses in which attendance is taken has not changed, said Dean Phelps yesterday.

Although some may have been added to the list, and others removed, the total number of courses in which a roll call is made remains approximately the same.

The list is automatically controlled by the number of Freshmen and Sophomores who have enrolled during the previous year; in lectures attended by the largest number of first and second year men, attendance is taken. Otherwise, the custom may be omitted. Sometimes, if the course in a small one, no record is made of those who are absent.
