Captain Jack Fisher Ready to Play Against Slightly Favored Dartmouth Freshmen Today

'45 Have Had Two Weeks Rest Since Worcester Game

Fortunately for the Yardlings Captain Jack Fisher has been declared sufficiently recovered from his recent injury to lead his team against the Dartmouth Freshmen at Hanover today.

Coach Chief Boston has had two weeks of intensive practice sessions since the 7 to 0 win over Worcester Academy in which to put his 1945 football aspirants into top shape for today's contest with the slightly favored Indian Yearlings.

Hopes for a Yardling victory have taken a turn for the better with the return of several injured players to the fold in time for today's fray.

Dick Mechem, hard hitting blocking back, has recovered enough from his old injury to be listed as sharing the starting honors with Phil Drake at that position.

Other backfield changes since the Worcester game have Don Richards sharing the starting berth at right half with Gershon Ross, and Paul Perkins back at fullback in place of Ralph Goodale, who started against the Academy team.

Coach Boston has kept his line intact, consisting of ends Pete Garland and Bill Hornbeck, tackles Bill Ward and Sandy Wheeler, guards Lloyd Duxbury and Sid Smith, and center Jack Fisher.

Coach Ossie Cowles of the Hanover squad plans to start John Menshan and Roy Duke at the end posts, Hal Lewis and Will Hufstader at tackle, Al Foster and Ed Bundy at guards, with Norm Brown at center.

In the backfield, he will rely on two ex-Exeter stars, Gunnard Reynolds, at right half, and John Callagy at Cullback, with John Burroughs at quarterback and Charles Holt at left half.

The Big Green's record to date is a 8 to 0 victory over B. C. and a 13 to 7 loss to Brown in the only two games played.
