Divinity School Will Hear Haverford Professor Speak

Douglas V. Steere, associate Professor of Philosophy at Haverford College and an outstanding authority on the philosophy of religion, has been appointed to deliver the annual public Ingersoll Lecture on "Immortality" at the Visitation Day of the Harvard Divinity School next April 14, the University announced today.

Professor Steere spent six months recently in Germany, Switzerland, and the Scandinavian countries to study conditions for the American Friends Service Committee. Among his works are "Prayer and Worship," "Community and Worship," an introduction to "Kelly's Testament of Devotion," a translation of Kierkegaard's "Purity of Heart."
