The long arm of National Defense has again reached forth, and nipped a Harvard project in the bud. Recently, a Geology 1 field trip, under the direction of Roy Huffington rolled up to Nahant Point, but was stopped by a soldier with a fixed bayonet.

Although Texas Roy pleaded that this was only a scientific group of rock-hunters from the University on the Charles, the sentry remained adamant. Much chagrined, Huffington investigated and discovered that a letter requesting permission to enter the sacred precincts had been sent some time earlier, but had been shunted off to California to get the necessary O.K., so had not yet reached Nahant.
