CAA PROGRAM TO CONTINUE

Must Fly in Haverhill If Aircraft Confuse Spotters

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Acting on permission received last Tuesday from the Interceptor Command the Harvard division of the Civilian Pilot Training program, sponsored by the C.A.A., is beginning its second semester course.

Since the declaration of war in December, students enrolling in C.P.T. courses have been required to sign affidavits. These binding them to serve in the Air Corps as soon as this or subsequent C.A.A. courses, is completed, whether or not they have finished college.

May Bother Spotters

Because the C.P.T. flying field falls within the restricted area extending the length of the Atlantic Coast and 30 miles inland, the permission to continue was granted conditionally. If civilian spotters attempting to account for all planes, are bewildered by these craft, the Harvard unit will have to move its center of activity inland to distant Haverhill.

Harvard civilian pilots, along with all non-official pilots in this area, will have to produce identification cards with picture and fingerprints before they can step into a plane.
