Showing definite promise against one of the strongest teams in the east, the squash team yesterday bowed to the state champion Union Boat Club raqueteers by a close 3 to 2 score.
All the matches were extremely close, with Tom Sears and Bill Frothingham winning theirs. Decker Orr and Orme Wilson both lost by narrow margins, while Gaylen Felt took the first two games from H. S. Howes, individual state champion, before he was beaten.
During Christmas vacation Frothingham succeeded in reaching the finals of the Boston Intercollegiate Tournament, where he was finally defeated.
The team has class B and C matches for today, and meets Pennsylvania on Friday.
