'45 NOT TO HAVE HOUSE INTERVIEWS

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

When members of the class of 1945 hand in their House application blanks on or before Wednesday, April 8, they will do so without the usual conferences with representatives of the various Houses.

Announced in a letter circulated among the Freshmen by Dean Hanford last Saturday, this elimination of the usual interviews has been decided on because it is impossible for the College to know at this time just what rooms are going to be available next fall.

Any Juniors or Sophomores, including all men now on the waiting list for the Houses, anxious to secure admission to the Houses for either the summer or fall terms should also obtain application blanks at 16 University Hall and file them there not later than April 8.

Another change in the House system this year was mentioned in Dean Hanford's statement when he called attention to the plans being made to allow doubling up in the larger suites, thus permitting a larger number of men to live in each House. Coupled with the early withdrawal of many students, this expansion will make it possible for all men in the College to secure rooms in the Houses.

Although there is no way of knowing what rooms will be open next fall, announcements of accommodations now known to be available will be posted in the Harvard Union and in University Hall on and after Thursday.

Also announced in Dean Hanford's statement were rough outlines of the room rents for next year. Single rooms, limited in number, will be available at thirty dollar intervals from $120 upward for the fall and spring terms.

Double rooms will range from $120 to a maximum of about $330, while triples will cost between $120 and about $270
