Freshmen over 18 years old can now volunteer for the Marine Corps Officers Candidate School, reported War Advisor A. James Casner yesterday in announcing the return of Lieutenant Ralph Hornblower, Jr. '41 tomorrow to interview members of the University interested in this branch of the service.

Men studying for their degree who enlist now may possibly have, but are not guaranteed, the chance of finishing College, but in any event they will be given six months' notice before being called up to begin their half-year training course which leads to a second lieutenant's commission in the Marine Corps Reserve.

Interviews Given Tomorrow

Appointments for interviews with Lt. Hornblower tomorrow may be obtained by calling Kirkland 7600, extension 38. Physical examinations for all applicants, including those who applied with Lt. Hornblower when he was here a month ago will be given as follows:

For names beginning with the letters A--G inclusive, Thursday, March 5; from H--Q Friday, March 6; and from R--Z, Monday, March 9. All men should be in the Conference Room of the Indoor Athletic Building at 10:30 o'clock on the morning of the day of their exam, or as soon thereafter as possible.

Age Limits 18 to 24

Age requirements at the time of enlistment are 18 to 23 for Freshmen and Sophomores, 19 to 23 for Juniors, and 20 to 24 for Seniors. Men wishing to enter must has U. S. citizens, must be unmarried and agree to remain so until commissioned.

Applicants must furthermore have or be aiming for an A.B., S.S., or Engineering degree, yet cannot be enrolled in any other military organization including the R.O.T.C.'s. Medical, Dental, and Theological students will not be considered.

Basic qualifications for the physical exam given to the regular Marine Corps are that candidates be between 66 and 76 inches in height. Weight will be judged in proportion.
