Anonymous Lady Solves Cat Mystery as Officials Fail

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Officials of the University Information Office have been searching for 24 hours to find out about calico cats, in order to answer the query of the Maine woman who owns a pair. Although they discovered that the multicolored felines are considered good luck charms, and presage riches in China, no details about the animals could be found.

The mystery was finally solved, however, when a lady, who did not divulge her name, but characterized herself as a "cat-fancier," phoned to inform the informers that the animals are rare, but not valuable. "They are half-breeds," she explained, "like mules."
