Enclosed with this issue is the "Confidential Guide to Freshman Courses," which the Crimson has sent to incoming Freshmen for a number of years. It lists most of the courses open to first year men, with opinions and comments about them.
These remarks are based on a poll of the members of the Class of 1945, in which they were asked to express their frank and honest opinions of their courses. Naturally, views on most courses varied from "superdooper " to "putrid," but those included in the Guide are fairly typical.
In addition to course comments, an introductory section with statements about academic problems, athletics, and extra-curricular activities is included. A special department on the war has been written for the first time. Additional copies of the Guide may be purchased at the Crimson office on 14 Plympton Street for 25 cents.
