At 2 o'clock last Saturday Gil Dodds easily won the Harvard-Tufts-Coast Guard cross country meet in 17:48, breaking the previous course record of 19.1 by a minute and 13 seconds, and coming in a full minute ahead of his closest trailer, Vogel, of Tufts, who also broke the record. Coast Guard won the triangular meet with 38 points; Harvard came in second with 40, and Tufts was last with 45.

Dodds was running unofficially in the 3.7 mile Handicap Course in order to practice for mile events in the near future. Vogel officially won the race. The following are the times for the first five to come in: Dodds--17:48; Vogel (Tufts)--18:49; Blanchard (Harvard)--19:08; Hodgman (Coast Guard)--19:48; Fitz (Harvard)--19:05.

The last time Dodds appeared here was last July when he was nipped by Gunder Haegg in a mile race at the Stadium. Both Haegg and Dodds at the time broke the existing American record, even though Dodds finished second.
