U. S. Treasury Asks Harvard Kids to Break Pig Banks

"How many of you, I wonder, have ever been inside a Mint where there are made all the pennies and nickels which you have to spend, and all the other coins for the people of the country." Thus the Director of the United States Treasury made its appeal to the "Boys and Girls of this School" to break open their piggy banks and get their collections of Indian head pennies into circulation. There were two soberer versions, but we liked this one best.
