MOSCOW--Russian troops have killed or captured 18,000 more Germans in a battle of annihilation against seven divisions trapped west of Voronezh and have driven down the railroad to with in 31 miles of Kursk, a special Soviet communique said today.

Survivors of the German army encircled by a swift Soviet pincers maneuver west of Voronezh have been chopped into several groups which are being wiped out one by one, the High Command said.

Altogether 27,000 prisoners have been captured in the reduction of the pocket behind which the Red army pincers snapped on Jan. 27, the bulletin said, while in the last five days 5,000 have been killed and 13,000 made prisoner.
