Calvin W. Hartshorn, of Winthrop House and East Dedham, has been selected to fill the vacancy on the Freshman Class Committee caused by the departure of Albert C. Riggs '46, of Winthrop House and Bellingham, Washington, for the Army.
Hartshorn is a '46 member of the Winthrop House Committee and has been recently appointed head of the Dance Committee.
The next meeting of the Class Committee, a new organization created last summer for the scattered '46ers, will be held in Phillips Brooks House tomorrow. At this meeting the future status of the Committee will be decided in view of the great changes which the summer term is to bring.
The group will also make plans for the reception of the first contingent of the Class of '47 in July. This work, formerly the job of the Student Council Representative for Freshman Affairs, has been taken over by the '46 Committee, which itself was started for the purpose of getting its own Class acquainted with Harvard.
