24 Left for Armored Fort School, Ft. Knox, Last Week

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Gradually breaking up after a two-month stay in the ASTU, the 56-man ROTC group returned to Harvard after basic training loses 17 more men today as a shipment goes to OCS at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. These Field Artillery students follow by one week the 24 men who were sent to the Armored Fort school at Ft. Knox, Kentucky.

Called to active service half-way through their Junior year, the ROTC men went through four-month basic at Ft. Bragg, Sill, or Roberts, trickled back Cambridge, and were put in the ASTU for cold storage. While at Harvard they were permitted to continue with their own college courses, subject to approval by the Army. In addition they performed certain administrative duties in the office.

Remaining in Cambridge for the time being are 13 men for whom quotas have not yet been received. They will eventually be sent to OCS in accordance with a general plan adopted last spring
