RADIO TECHNICIAN PROGRAM STARTED

School Will Be Set Up in Chicago Under V-6 Program

Announcement of the Navy V-6 Radio Technician Program, a new ten months' course in advanced electronics was made by the War Service Information Office last night. Those qualifying for the program will be assigned to the Navy Radio School in Chicago as Seamen. First Class, and will be given a course on the theory and operation of submarine detection and radio finder apparatus, communication equipment, and other electronic devices.

To qualify for the program a physical examination and a test based on a sound knowledge of mathematics, electricity, radio, and shop practice must be passed. Upon successful completion of the course, men are graduated with the rating of Radio Technician, Second Class.

Men who are interested in this program will have a chance to see a Navy representative, Philip W. Regan, C. P. O., USNR, in the War Service Information Office, 11 Little Hall, on Tuesday afternoon from 12 to 2 o'clock and from 3 to 5 o'clock. Those who are unable to see Chief Regan on May 9, may call at the War Information Officer for further information.
