"As far as can be ascertained at the moment. Harvard teams will be playing this summer, although all plans made thus far are still tentative," stated Carroll F. Getchell, administrative official of the H.A.A., yesterday.
We are looking forward to a full program of athletics, as far as manpower permits, including crew, tennis, and baseball. All games, said Getchell, will be scheduled for Wednesdays and Saturdays, as was done this past term, though he may have to limit sports to Saturdays alone, if not enough players are available.
The prospects for the fall term, owing to the large turnover in playing material, are as yet hazy. "Still, a full football season may be possible," Getchell added, "since now the term will not be broken in the middle as under the accelerated program."
He revealed also that Harold W. Hunter '48 and James S. Roberts '47 will represent Harvard in the annual Eastern Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament, to be launched Monday, June 25, at Montclair, New Jersey.
